Kenzo Tada worked for the Japanese Velocette importer; he was invited to take part in the 1930 Junior TT. Following an eventful practice session when he suffered many tumbles, he stayed aboard in the race to finish in 15th place. Tada was instrumental in persuading Soichiro Honda to bring his machines to the TT
